Bought myself the following three books that seem extremely promising .... and interesting. Could not afford them, though, as usual ...
The Theory of Everything: The Origin and Fate of the Universe : Stephen W Hawking
The unauthorised publication of his Lectures.
The Discoveries: Great Breakthroughs in 20th-century Science, Including the Original Papers : Alan Lightman
I am curious as to how these papers are translated across to the layman.
What Is Your Dangerous Idea? : ( Edited ) John Brockman
Plug for Edge.

Saw this charming tale this evening. Rather subtly humourous and brings to mind The Sting.

Possibly as good as it gets. I felt the end lost a bit of steam though. Outstanding, nevertheless.

Upon Reflection, the only way to conceal knowledge is to expose you to the chaff of information. No? Why Not?

I had thoroughly enjoyed the first two Bourne movies and eagerly awaited release of the third.
The movie was wonderfully satisfying in the sense that it did not follow the usual Hollywood diktat of expositions that pander to the lowest common denominator. I felt that the camerawork was rather appropriate and added to the cliffhanger feel of the film. What I liked in particular was the telescoping / dovetailing of the events of the second film into a larger perspective of the third.
Nevertheless, there is a grouse - the idea of operatives / directors of operations speaking in a language that is closer to what you would expect of well-programmed automatons as opposed to well-trained soldiers. There is a difference. However, the grouse can be safely ignored.

Black resigned. Did I get lucky or was it a matter of control over space?
