Grace is Gone

Neon shines through smoky eyes tonight
It’s 2 AM, I’m drunk again
It’s heavy on my mind
It’s heavy on my mind

I could never love again
So much as I love you
Where you end where I begin
Is like a river flowing through

Take my heart, take my eyes
'Cause I'll need them no more
If never again they’ll fall upon
The one I so adore

'Scuse me please, one more drink
Could you make it strong
'cause I don’t need to think
She broke my heart
My Grace is Gone
Another drink and I’ll move on

One drink to remember, and another to forget
How could I ever dream to find a love like this again
One drink to remember, and another to forget...

Excuse me please, one more drink
Would you make it strong
'Cause I don’t need to think
She broke my heart
My Grace is Gone
Another drink and I’ll move on
One more drink and ill move on...

You think of things impossible
Then the sun refuse to shine
I woke with you beside me
Your cold hand lay in mine

'Scuse me please, one more drink
Could you make it strong
'Cause I don’t need to think
She broke my heart
My Grace is Gone
Another drink and I’ll go...

'Scuse me please, one more drink
Could you make it strong
'Cause I don’t need to think
She broke my heart
My Grace is Gone
Another drink and I'll move on
One more drink and I'll move on
One more drink my Grace is Gone.

Things Have Changed

One two three four…

I'm a worried man, got a worried mind
No one in front of me, no one behind
There's a woman on my lap and she's drinking champagne.
Got white skin, got assassin's eyes
I'm looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I'm well dressed, waiting on the last train.
Standin' on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I'm expectin' all hell to break loose.
People are crazy and times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm outta range
I used to care, but things have changed.

This place ain't doing me any good
I'm in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain't no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he's got anything to prove.
Lot of water under the bridge, lot of other stuff too
Don't get up gentlemen, I'm only, I'm only passing through.
People are crazy, times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

I've been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I'm trying to get as far away from myself as I can.
Things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can't win with a losin' hand.
Feel like fallin' in love with the first woman I meet
Puttin' her in a wheel barrow, wheelin' her down the street.
People are crazy, times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range
I used to care, but things have changed.

I hurt easy, I just don't show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity.
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I'm in love with a woman that don't even appeal to me.
Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they, they jumped in the lake
I'm not that eager, not that eager to make a mistake.
People are crazy, times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm outta range
I used to care, but things have changed.

Freedom?

I wonder why "free to choose" means the same as "bound" to do so from .............. Choice implies limitation somehow.

Extract

The dragon tipped up his great tusked head, stretched his neck, sighed fire. 'Ah, Grendel!' he said. He seemed that instant to rise almost to pity. 'You improve them, my boy! Can't you see that yourself? You stimulate them! You make them think and scheme. You drive them to poetry, science, religion and all that they are as long as they last. You are, so to speak, the brute existent by which they learn to define themselves. The exile, captivity, death they shrink from - the blunt facts of their mortality, their abandonment - that's what you make them recognise, embrace! You are mankind, or man's condition : inseparable as the mountain-climber and the mountain. If you withdraw, you'll instantly be replaced. Brute existents, you know, are a dime a dozen. No sentimental trash, then. If man's the irrelevance that interests you, stick with him! Scare him to glory! Its all the same in the end, matter or motion, simple and complex. No difference finally. Death, transfiguration. Ashes to ashes and slime to slime, Amen.'

State of Mind

There is just a void within. It asks very little. It can give nothing. Except maybe a smile. Trying to get myself together so as to think of the future, all I draw is a blank. And therefore there is no hope. Meaningless existence. Scant desire. And therefore little despair as well. The past is a gradually misting non-happening.

All that this asks for is a quiet sensitivity. And then maybe some non-vocal sensibility. However, these seem to be pipe-dreams much like all others.

Its a constant make and break of the self.

Justice?

To judge is not the same as being "judgemental". Not surprisingly, justice is perverted most by those fearful of judgement. Being compassionate/open is to be able to judge.

Death & Divorce

How do you separate "knowing a person" from "taking them for granted"?
